about yaky…

Yours truly, the principals.

Andrea Alinovi

China and the East of Asia are my business playground since 1993. After a business consulting career, I was hired in the early 90s by a multinational corporation and tasked with 'investigating new business opportunities in the Far East', working elbow to elbow with Marescotti Ruspoli. Since then, I have learned that the East is not that far and a lot of opportunities are out there to grab. In 1994, I launched Yaky in partnership with Marescotti.

Marescotti Ruspoli

a closeup of Marescotti I have to admit that I shared my office with Andrea back in 1993, working for the same company as a regional managing director for Asia. After visiting a monastery turned into an art and furniture warehouse in a faraway village, it dawned on us that disseminating Chinese and Asian classical furniture could turn into a sound investment. The first selling experiments were very succesful. After all, brains are nothing without true beauty.

Since 1994, Yaky has grown considerably, and so has our team.

In all the flagship stores, Yaky can rely on passionate salespersons that have turned their passion for Asian furniture and objects of true beauty into their job.

Yaky's production units, based in China and the Philippines, are constantly monitored by the principals and a pool of experts who make sure that tight quality standards are met throughout the workflow – from raw material procurement to S&H.
